Service to the academy, the students,

my community, and beyond.

Mentoring the students at Wheaton is probably one of the most enjoyable facets of my job.  I struggled to find my way as an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, so I have a special place in my heart for guiding students through this challening season of life.

Brain Awareness Week

I discovered the Dana Foundation's Brain Awareness Week in 2018 and decided to celebrate!  Take a look at how we introduced the Wheaton College campus to the only organ that discovered itself.

Community

My wife and I take an organic approach to serving our community.  We are constantly on the look out for opportunities to get to know our neighbors and serve them as opportunities arise.

Academy
"The Pipeline"

The real Pipeline is a deadly surf break on Oahu's North Shore.  I'm using the name to describe the relationship between me at Wheaton College and several ministry opportunities that are available to students in San Diego, CA.  There are short-term Spring Break opportunities, mid-term Summer Break opportunities, and long-term vocational opportunities.  Contact me for more information.

Yes, you will have the opportunity to surf!

I serve as an ad-hoc reviewer for a variety of journals related to neuroscience, exercise, stress, and EEG.  For a complete list please see my CV.

I also serve as a member of the Military Affairs committee at Wheaton College and have enjoyed getting to know the ROTC cadets, the veterans we have on campus, and the Department Chair of Military Science, LTC James Hoyman.

I'm also more than happy to collaborate with colleagues on a variety of topics from design and statistics, to measuring the brain, to meta-analysis.  To learn more about my collaborations, click here.
