I think it is absolutely critical for students to attend scientific conferences to present their work.  This critical step signals to future medical, graduate, and professional schools as well as future employers that a student understands how important it is to go beyond gaining experience to producing a tangible product.

Undergraduate Page Hayley presented our work on cross-cultural workers relating their autonomic function (HRV) with several indices of behavioral health.   We also had dinner at a wonderful Greek restaurant that had brain on the menu so we partook!

Undergraduate Kelly Ross presented our work exploring how men high in trait anger process emotionally evocative pictures and the EEG correlates thereof.

Undergraduate Amy Early presented our collaborative work using meta-regression to better understand the effects of meal consumption on blood vessel health.  She was also invited to present at the Microvasculature Socitty while at EB.  Her work is now in press.

Undergraduates Kai Libby, Elisabeth Sorenson, and Amanda Azadian presented our work on the effects of head-cooling on performance.  We had a ton of fun in San Diego too.  Kai and Amanda went sky-diving!
